Clean, modern environment to serve Marion families  
Purpose and GoalsThe Marion County Family Resource Center’s (MCFRC) purpose is to strengthen Marion’s youth and families in order to prevent the unnecessary and inappropriate detainment of youth in detention and to provide services that create stability opportunities for families in need. MCFRC will achieve these goals by providing on-site and referral-based assessments, skills attainment, and holistic services to youth and families who are in need.

    Classroom / training room
    BOYS COUNCIL – Strength-based group addressing issues of maturing young men.
  • GIRLS CIRCLE – Group addressing issues of maturing young women.
  • ART – (Aggression Replacement Therapy) – Anger management groups.
  • ON-SITE COUNSELOR – Counselor available for those who screen with a trauma history – skill building.
  • INDEPENDENT LIVINGS SKILLS (IL) – Curriculum to teach basic skills of independence.
  • CHOICES FOR LIFE – Drug education program – evidence-based, risk reduction.
  • STRENGTHENING FAMILIES – Youth and parents participate jointly and separately in developing communication and ways to resolve conflict and share fun activities.
  • PARENT PROJECT – For parents whose adolescent is out of control and defiant.
  • FAMILY MEDIATION – Trained mediators help resolve parent/child conflict or disputes.
  • PARENT PEER SUPPORT – Offers help in understanding how to work the Community Agencies.
Partners and Service ProvidersCommunity agencies and individuals in social and justice services, education, and mental health all agree that the only way we can improve the outcomes for children is to come together, share resources, and to provide individualistic care for at-risk youth. Some of our partners include: Marion County Family & Children First Council; Center Street Community Health Center; Boys & Girls Club of Marion County; Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs; Marion City Schools; Case Western Reserve University; and many area professionals.
